Carrot Top has spoken out for the first time since attempting suicide a month ago.
The comedian released a statement on Instagram explaining the situation.
“I am truly touched by the outpouring of love, support, prayers and blessings over the past few weeks,” he wrote. “Every message, text and kind thought meant more to me than you will ever know.
Carat Top (real name Scott Thompson) said, “I can’t respond to everyone individually, but please know that I truly feel love for each and every one of you and am grateful.” “Thank you for being there for me during this time. It means so much to me!”
The comedian also announced that he would be performing his first comedy show since the Oct. 19 incident at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, where he has had a residency since 2005.
Thompson was hospitalized on September 18 after attempting suicide at his home.
He was found unconscious near a backyard pool after a welfare check, according to a police report obtained by Page Six.
His manager reportedly requested a welfare check after speaking with the client about his ongoing legal issues.
