Hasbro1 Year ‘Apple Tour’ Transformers: The Movie arrived on the shelves. walmart. Fans have started looking for a new metal lunchbox and matching Sherpa blanket to commemorate the animated film’s 40th anniversary, and the first sighting came from a collector named Ruination04, who posted a photo on the 2005 Boards fan forum earlier this week (October 14). He found both at a Walmart in Monroe, North Carolina, where the employee wrote: “I just took it out.”
Unicron is the star of both. The lunchbox features planet-sized villains behind Rodimus Prime and Galvatron on one side and Optimus Prime and Megatron on the other. The blanket reuses aspects of Rodimus and Galvatron, while other Autobots and Decepticons from the film are hidden in the background.
How much does it cost?
This blanket is listed on Walmart’s website as Transformers Adult Novelty Sherpa Throw Blanket, War of the Matrix. It measures 50 x 60 inches and costs $16.96. The lunchbox is listed separately as a Transformers Tin Tote Lunchbox, and Ruination04 has confirmed that it is a metal tin. Collectors who have seen the listing say it does not include a thermos.
Both items appear to be in stock separately from the toys. Ruination04 found it in the collectibles section of the electronics department. A collector in Roanoke, Virginia, found three or four of each, along with a blind-bag Transformers bag clip case, in the electronics ‘pop culture toys’ section. Several fans said the Walmart app is the best place to start looking, as it places blankets in the electronics and gaming areas.

It wasn’t easy for anyone to get one. The lunch box listings have returned online after disappearing for a while, and this week both products appeared out of stock online and in select stores. One fan who ordered a blanket said it arrived that night. “My cat quickly claimed it.”

What fans think about art
The new design split the fan base a bit. Some people are happy to see the post-Optimus era getting its own merchandise. Like the fan who wrote: “Finally! The background pick also raised eyebrows. Fans questioned why Shockwave, who was quickly wiped out by Unicron in the film, was featured in a blanket, while others asked why Bumblebee was placed before characters with larger roles. One collector said he liked the Optimus and Megatron art on the back of the lunchbox better.
