Following the New York Comic Con presentation, Amazon Prime Video has released the second trailer for the ‘Blade Runner 2099’ limited TV series ahead of its November 25 release.
Set in the cinematic world half a century after the events of Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Blade Runner 2049’, the film depicts a radically changed Los Angeles where humanity is no longer in control and replicants have emerged victorious following an uprising.
They are now power brokers in the city and humans are second-class citizens. Michelle Yeoh stars as Olwen, a replicant blade runner who hunts down a group of rogue replicants who have gone missing as their predetermined lifespans expire.
Hunter Schafer plays Korra, a human fugitive who has spent her entire life on the run from Blade Runners but must now pretend to be one. She joins Olwen’s search for the missing replicant.
The series will focus on entirely new characters, but the central mystery will be tied to the mythology. “Blade Runner 2049” screenwriter Michael Green helped develop the project, and original “Blade Runner” director Ridley Scott executive produced and advised on the series.
The future of humanity is no longer human. Blade Runner 2099, a new limited edition series, will premiere on Prime Video on November 25th.
