Even if ring The trailer didn’t make your mouth water for the Alexander Skarsgård-shaped basket, but this cast list should. Olivia Colman, Peter Dinklage, Elizabeth Debicki, Richard E. Grant, and, of course, Skarsgård under the many-titled branches.

Written/Directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor WilsonSave yourself!) Make the most of that cast to bring Ursula Wills’ short story “Wicker Husband” to screen life.

In a fairytale village, an ostracized fisherman (Colman, excellent as always), loner and tired of the town’s jokes, turns to the Master Basket Weaver (Dinklage) for a husband. He turns her into Skarsgård.

Fischer and Wilson’s script lengthens and complicates the source material with rich characters, cheeky situations, and terrifying real-life danger. Told as a fable, ring It picks up the label of patriarchy, especially its heroic efforts to undermine human relationships and respect. This remarkable cast mines the clever script for laughs, pathos, and a few genuine surprises. Some of those bites.

The fisherman woman’s happiness, the genuine love and respect they share, causes jealousy, lust, and anxiety in the village. Debicki’s treacherous Tailor’s Wife (or Doctor’s Daughter, depending on who you ask) conveys subtle, understated malice, and the ensemble players (especially Ella Bruccoleri and Ben Ashenden) bring real flavor to the town.

Dinklage is a cheeky delight, while Skarsgård’s incredible softness is Mr. It makes me feel very protective of Wicker. Even though he delivers innocent lines, the writing itself is sharp and poetic, and Skarsgård has excellent expressive skills despite wearing a prosthetic hand. ring It became the most romantic movie of 2026.

But of course, the master of the film is Coleman. Able to go from comedy to heartbreaking drama in the blink of an eye, she delivers a performance so human that the winking concept never feels like a gimmick.

Beneath the witty concept lies depth and beauty, as well as recognizable human failings. And if that doesn’t do it for you, this cast will leave you spellbound.
